Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, early in elementary school, Ronald N. Pircio developed an interest in art while attending free drawing classes by the Cleveland Art Museum. He has always been intrigued by the realism in still life painted by the Old Masters and the soft colors of the Impressionists.
Ronald N. Pircio works in pastels and oils and paints still life and landscapes. More recently, he has been identified with his pear paintings. His pears are a still life with a twist: Instead of surrounding the pears with kitchen objects or household treasures in a static composition, the pears take on human attributes, like hovering in family groups or standing alone as an older, fatter single.
Individuals and corporations throughout the country collect Mr. Pircio’s works. To date he has completed over 335 pear paintings.
